Jordan virus

Abbreviation for the Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV). It can infect up to 100% of a greenhouse crop in a single growing season.

"Jordan virus" is the short name for the Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV). This virus causes significant economic damage, particularly to tomato crops.

It spreads very easily—via hands, tools, and contact between plants. Over the course of a season, it can infect up to 100% of the greenhouse crop and cause yield losses of 25 to 70%, due to unsaleable fruit and lost production resulting from infected plants.
