Sugar content

One of the most important indicators of quality in fruits and vegetables, measured in Brix degrees. It directly affects taste and market value.

For fruits and vegetables, sugar content is one of the most important quality characteristics. A higher sugar content can result from an optimal supply of nutrients and efficient photosynthesis. This has a direct impact on flavor and market value.

For crops such as tomatoes, strawberries, and grapes, it is the key factor determining flavor. However, light, water, harvest time, plant stress, and nutrient balance also influence sugar content.

Sugar content is measured in degrees Brix: 1 degree Brix corresponds to 1 gram of dissolved sugar in 100 grams of aqueous solution.
